For volunteer coaches

Everyone plays equally. Even when someone is away.

Enter the squad once, check off who's not there today, and get a substitution plan that evenly distributes minutes and positions — recalculated for every single match.

No login. The squad stays in your own browser.

The spreadsheet breaks the first time someone is sick

Most teams have a rule that everyone should play equally, and many also have a rule that no one should play goalie all season. So the coach makes a spreadsheet with a rotation for the entire spring. It works until Saturday when three players drop out an hour before the match starts. The rotation was written for eleven names, now there are eight, and every single slot after that match is wrong.

  • The 'minutes so far this season' column stops being accurate, and no one notices until a parent asks.
  • The one who was sick for two games never gets back in, because the plan doesn't know she's behind.
  • The goalkeeper spot ends up with the same person, because no one can be bothered to change it.

Spilletid does the opposite: nothing is a plan for the season. Each game is based on two things — who's actually here today and what everyone's played until now.

How it works

Enter the squad

One name per line. Choose game format — five-a-side, seven-a-side, nine-a-side, eleven-a-side, basketball, hockey — or set up your own positions and how many periods the game is divided into.

Check who is absent

Sick, away, injured. You haven't ruined a plan, you've updated information. The rotation is recalculated immediately.

Take the match card

Period by period, who stands where and who sits on the bench. Print it out or save as PDF. When the match is played, save it in the season, and the next match starts from the new numbers.

What the tool actually does

Minutes first

Each period goes to those furthest behind in the season. The one who missed two games gets them back, bit by bit, without you having to remember.

Positions afterward

Once the team is selected, positions are assigned to those who have played there the least. The goalkeeper position is assigned first, as there is only one.

Locked Keeper, Said Aloud

If you have someone who stays in goal the whole match, you can lock her there. The tool then clearly states that her minutes are no longer even, instead of pretending.

Match Card and Schedule

The match card can be printed or saved as a PDF. The schedule is downloaded as .ics and goes straight into the calendar of everyone who needs it.

What It Costs

19 NOK per month. Nothing is hidden behind a payment: the entire tool works for free, and the subscription is for those who want it to continue existing. No price per player, no countdown, no 'from' price.

Free to use. Subscription is voluntary support.

Questions We Get

Do I have to create a user?

No. The squad and season are stored in your browser, on this device. This also means they disappear if you clear your browser — so download the season overview before changing phones.

What if we’re too few to fill the team?

The tool fills as many positions as there are players for, and notifies you that you’re missing people. It doesn't guess names that aren't there.

Why doesn't everyone play exactly the same amount in one match?

Because the arithmetic rarely comes out even. Seven places across four periods is 28 period slots shared between ten children. The tool says so when that is the case, and uses the difference to pay back what earlier games left owing.

Is it suitable for sports other than football?

Yes. Basketball, handball, and ice hockey have the same issues with different numbers. You can set up your own positions and how many fit in each.
